The U.S. gains one person about every 10 seconds based on the net of births, deaths, and migration.
That is a lot of people.
That brings the question, what will fail first; The Health Care System, Social Security, or General Resources (Food and Fuel)?
It seems I am having a massive influx of new subscribers to The Slow Bleed – apparently the topics are of interest to a lot of people. Sometimes serious, sometimes fun, the site is certainly a great place to post your comments and share your opinion with others.
For the next couple days I will keep this post at the top (to help the new people) so look for the latest posts just below this one. I usually add 7-12 new posts per week.

Well this just doesn’t seem fair to post on a blog. 
The American Journal of Psychiatry may be adding “internet addiction” in the next version of DSM (the U.S handbook of recognizing psychiatric conditions).
The condition is explained by excess use of the Internet, poor achievement, depression, or anger if Internet access is lost.
I sure hope this post downloaded quick enough for 10 million people…
This photo was posted on a fairly active terrorist site designed to keep momentum in the fight against the United States. The post called for using more destructive weapons on U.S. soil.
If you ever wonder what we are fighting for, or think everyone in the world really does like us, perhaps this picture will serve as a reminder.

Sure, Maybe this blog title wasn’t fair, but in Lake County Florida, they are dealing with the real issue of disappearing house cats and fatter looking coyotes.
I think the statement is self-explanatory, but what is not is can you blame them?
We have taken over more and more land and shown our supreme dominance over all the other animals. So why are we surprised when they adapt and try to survive? Would we do any different in a similar situation? I hope not.
Survival is survival. 
I am not necessarily rooting for the cougar that decides to pounce on the ill-fated jogger wondering his or her way through the diminishing wooded areas. But, I am not surprised either – they want to survive as much as we do.
I sure hope the squirrels don’t turn on us…there are lots of them around!
