Ok, maybe not the tooth fairy since she is dealing with baby teeth, but with the continuing increase in gold prices, many people are looking through their desks, closets, and mouths to find anything gold, including fillings and crowns.
A typical gold crown can go for $40-$50 — beating the tooth fairy by a mile. This makes gold less inviting for everyday use as it can sometimes be cashed in for big bucks.
A once seemingly tacky “grill of gold” (capping all your front teeth in gold) now has some fashion-conscious people looking like smart investors.
Hopefully these quasi-body parts will stop at gold. Not sure what livers, spleens, or kidneys are going for nowadays or if pawn shops are set up to accept them.
