Animals Looking for Government Handouts?

Animals that were formerly self-sufficient are now showing signs of simply waiting for government handouts; they have apparently learned to simply sit and wait for the government to provide for their care and sustenance.

Then again, it could be the next Bank CEO waiting for a government bailout!

You know, I have accounts with Bank of the West, and oddly enough, now that you mention it, this fella does look familiar. And he may need a handout after dealing with me….I have had to call 6 times just to make one deposit be one deposit, no more (like they first did), no less (like they did right after), and not shorted money out of me in the form of NSF fees for their accounting errors because they gave me my money, then after a few transactions pulled it all out( hence debacle #2, which I’ve had to have the fee straightened out 3 times).

Maybe if I work hard enough and accept unjust fees, I can protect the greater BofW banking community from grand bankruptcy proceedings!

I know you are trying to make an analogy here, but the truth about our wildlife is that we humans keep taking more and more of their territory (i.e., habitat, i.e., their natural home in the wild places) and paving it over for our own use without regard to their plight. It is normal and natural for animals who are losing the habitat that made them “self sufficient” to come closer to humans when they are starving. They are looking for food, any way they can get it.

The analogy is not a good one. The animals deserve to be respected. They did nothing to get into the situation that took away their homes and now forces them to come closer to civilization looking for food.

The same cannot be said for all the banks, mortgage companies, equity companies, hedge funds and derivatives markets. Our economy is and has been built on sand for far too long. And, to make matters worse, it’s international!

The pidgeons are just now coming home to roost. Why are we surprised? World economy: House of Cards! Free markets? Ha! When will we learn. Roosevelt had the right idea and got the country on the right track and into prosperity following the Great Depression. We cannot, apparently, expect the same courage from current leaders in Washington, of either party.

Godfather Added: Certainly didn’t mean to offend any Bears (I actually like them) – just thought the photo was funny. As usual I print any comments – good and bad – so any Bears are free to chime in at any time!

  5. I have to agree with Josie. It’s NOT the animals’ fault that we stole their natural habitat and turned it into a people invested concrete jungle where they can’t forage for their own food.

I understand your point, but don’t see the need to insult the animal kingdom in the process…..*smiles*

That’s actually Calvin…Hobbes tossed him into the transmogrifier…

Godfather Added: Sad, the many kids of today will never know how funny that really is!
