Today’s Students Staying Close to Parent’s Wallet…

This years Credit-ED(R) report showed no surprises when it came to upcoming graduates…

Only 38% felt securing a good job was a priority after graduation (21% felt their physical/mental well being was the top issue).

Average income expected? $37,165 with over one-third expecting over $40,000 but…

Over two-thirds said they “expect at least some financial support from their parents” post graduation.

Parents – Don’t covert that room just yet…

$40k…a YEAR??? wow….I only attain that with both my wife and myself working…..I can make a little over 30 with a good chunk of overtime to kill myself with. And despite some early poor decisions financially, I NEVER even contemplated asking my parents for monetary assistance. If I had, they’d have realized I was stupid enough to accept one of their credit card bills as help!

I think today’s kids are going to have rude awakening. I have three kids and thankfully they are all doing well.
