I think this guy is getting on my nerves more than the Miley Cyrus photos in Vanity these days. I think Wright needs to retire from the media faster than the Flowbee (which is still for sale, believe it or not).
Sure, Northwestern University made an unusual move (academically) by taking away his honorary degree and uninviting him to the commencement ceremonies this June — but is it really enough?
Frankly, I couldn’t care less about Wright’s involvement in the current presidential campaign (or at least for the purpose of this blog, I couldn’t care less). What I do care about are his actions and their outright destruction of this country.
Jeremiah Wright is a perfect example of how we will never bridge the inequalities of race as long as we have both racism and reverse racism. Wright is just as guilty as those that verbally attack minorities — he just does it in the other direction.
That may even be worse than the initial perpetrators. At least with them, you can say they were “uneducated” or “didn’t know any better.” Wright does know better yet chooses to take the lowest route possible toward furthering mankind — and don’t get me started on using religion as his excuse.
Well I got news for you Wright (not to mention Sharpton, Spike Lee, Farrakhan, etc) — you aren’t helping things get better in this country, and I am not sure you ever wanted to. You are merely using your fame and platforms to further you own agenda. Period.
It is always easy to shoot at others, play the eternal victim, and rally everyone to hate. What is hard is taking the high road.
Fine, I suppose this is where you look for some witty insights to my mind. A "bio" of sorts. Here is the deal... I ride motorcycles, smoke cigars, golf, kayak, fly, race my car through the mountains, write (a lot), and travel extensively. While for many reasons, people believe in what Wright has to say, I personally do not. I may have simulair beliefs in some of what he spouts out of his mouth, but God Damn America and the Aids thing just bleeds unintelligence and ignorance.
Lets look at it this way… a minister, even one from the black church who may be way more animated than other cultures and races, can not go nuts and damn ANYONE or anything. Only God can… so as poetically smooth the justopisition of words and the yin and yang of outcomes sounds (its like Hollywood except in a church) it was improper. People of God BLESS, not damn.
As for the AIDS thing: If it were true and easily proven, don’t you think it could be a very bad move on any leaders part to announce it and America’s doing for something that has spread throughout the world in many races? If it could truly be shown as such, wouldn’t it mean the end of everything we knew and hold in America? True outrage would sweep the world, the economy and the dollar would PLUNGE and eventually jobs lost (including black people lol) and so forth… that is a very expensive truth. So why is he saying it? Sounds irresponsible to say such things even if its the truth… that’s something that needs to come out 100 years from now.
You see where I’m going with this? The guy (Mr. Wright) is out for himself. He is getting all of this attention and is using it to get what HE believes out. Is what he is saying quite popular in the black community? mostly yes… but is it being said to enlighten or to just empower himself?
The other reason why he could be doing this actually can be very self-less and that is that he is TRULY TRYING TO SABOTAGE Barack Obama chances to winning the presidency. He (Mr. Wright) must think something is seriously wrong with him so he is doing whatever it takes to make Barack loose. This is a possibility that can’t be ignored but seems highly unlikely. Why destroy the one guy who can bring the country together? Why say that YOU believe Obama believes the same things and then CALL HIM ON IT instead of letting him win and have a president that YOU BELIEVE has the same ideas on what America really is IN YOUR OPINION?
Because Mr. Wright is all about himself and HIS message. He feels this is the right time to get the message (and himself) out there.
