I will be the first to admit I didn’t think I would make it this long and I am certainly amazed you all made it along with me. The Slow Bleed and I share the same birthday. I started this blog last year on April 10th, 2008 (my personal birth date on the other hand is a bit further back in time).
Over the last year I have written over 300 blog entries and you have left over 3,000 comments. I have been praised by fans, tormented by grammar Nazi’s, pissed off more than one politician, created and killed a couple trends, and generally had a great time in the process.
I will be the first to admit I am pretty much a hack at this. I played with the coding on the website to try and make it look more original, I added Google Adsense to try and cover a few costs (servers, pictures, etc), and I probably left my old English teacher cowering in the corner somewhere. But in the end, it was all worth it (sorry Ms. Wilcox).
I am often asked for my personal favorites blog entries. I suppose at some point I will get around to making a narcissistic list; but I can tell you most of my favorites probably reside in the “humor“ category of the site.
When I am asked by someone to explain exactly what The Slow Bleed is I am often at a loss for words. Certainly I have a tendency to pick on those residing in the shallow end of the gene pool but I like to think there is more to it than that (this is when I am really kidding myself).
The Slow Bleed is a collection of my often-senseless ramblings. Some entries may piss people off, some may make you smile. If the entries are worth reading (more than not) than I am glad you came by. If they aren’t, well, I never wrote them for you anyway.

Fine, I suppose this is where you look for some witty insights to my mind. A "bio" of sorts. Here is the deal... I ride motorcycles, smoke cigars, golf, kayak, fly, race my car through the mountains, write (a lot), and travel extensively. You are right. Many of the blogs make me laugh and a few piss me off but more importantly they make me think. (Hey that’s kind of like being married….)
