Finally, someone gets hit hard for one of the most annoying things to hit the Internet since Paris Hilton.
Thirty-five-year-old Edward Davidson must report to prison (for 21 months) and he must also pay the IRS $715,000 for tax evasion. “Eddie” was sending spam (no, not the good kind pictured) with false e-mail headers meant to dupe stock investors.
Here are the questions I have…
Wesley Snipes was sentenced for three years in prison – over a year more than Davidson. Sure, both evaded taxes, but at least Snipes didn’t bother hundreds of thousands of the rest of us.
Why the IRS? Well, Davidson made at least $3.5 million sending e-mails for nearly 20 companies. So, that brings up the question: “Who are the companies?”
I hope they weren’t the e-mails that say Bill Gates is giving away the Nigerians’ money to pay for free meals at Chevy’s — those are real aren’t they?
Fine, I suppose this is where you look for some witty insights to my mind. A "bio" of sorts. Here is the deal... Spam?!?!?!?! It took joining the military, going out in the field for a few days without a single hot meal, and coming back to a mess hall where the only choice of entrees were slab of ham, or creamy potatoes with huge ham cubes….just to begin to like ham.
And I only tried it because I was massively hungry, and even with the salad bar and eating everything but the ham chunks my stomach was not satisfied. I ate the ham cubes…surprisingly delicious. But Spam…. I’ve had it repeatedly…BLECH!
