I am way over getting emails from people that tell me not only who I should vote for, but are sure to include fake data to back up their opinions.
The sad part is the people sending the information don’t really know the information is fake and base what should have been sound decisions on this fake crud.
You know the ones I mean. This week, from no less than nine people, I got the one that basically says that McCain wants to lower taxes and Obama wants to increase them to 45%. Of course the email has no foundation in reality, but it does not matter, the damage is done.
Now, some of the people that sent it to me were smart. They either said, “Hey, don’t know if this is true or not” or “Can you verify this for me?” – most items can be verified in about 30 seconds on the Internet at a sites like snopes.com and others. Others just treat printed word as fact – a big mistake.
What started as a joke has increased to a real problem. How do you determine what is factual and what is not? The process does not stop at email; check out this personalized video a Slow Bleed reader sent me.
So the truth is, when you disappeared on your little trip, it was off to meet with the true world leaders to conspire against the mainstream parties!!! And they have sanctioned your presidential run….any cool conspiracies to throw our way, so we can start spamming all our friends with fake stuff?? Maybe pull a few of the Ron Paul conspiracy freaks over to your side?
This would be even funnier, if I hadn’t seen this concerning Skittles, who is running a fine campaign. http://kaboodlecats.blogspot.com/2008/07/wordy-wednesday_15.html
I hadn’t seen Skittles was running (that is what I get for being on vacation). I will be announcing my removal from the race this weekend at the ranch and urging my supporters to vote for Skittles.
I’m always happy to have more supporters!
kthxbai!
Luv,
Skittles, The Huntress
Added. Nice work on this one. Btw, my blog is dofollow, stop by and grab a link. Walter
Seriously, politics is dreadful. That’s why I decide who I’m voting for and then stay put. It’s easy. I’m a Democrat. I will vote for a Democrat. This is reality.
Now why I’m a Democrat is more complicated. But all these rumors and character assassinations are wrong. We have two formerly (before the campaign) normal men who are going to run for president.
Which one do you want? Then support him. Nothing about evil. Or the lesser of two. Voting a split ticket is like hitting yourself with a crowbar. You’re the criminal and the victim. You’re for and against lowering taxes, you want to stop and fight the war. Make up thy mind. Then be thyself.
Four years of McCain. We’ll survive. Four years of Obama. Ditto.
Better yet Vote for Skittles. LOL
Godfather: I love the last part…you are right Helen, either way, we will survive!
2 endorsements for Skittles…I may have to look into that!!! I still have 8 years before I can run and start assassinating my opponents, err, their character.
Godfather: 8 Years…man, do I feel old.
