This blog starts today. Perhaps I was bored, or perhaps I just reached the end of my sociological rope.
It seems that I can’t read the newspaper or turn on the TV without being inundated with seemingly stupid decisions that are slowly destroying our country. I wonder if these decisions are completely random or if they are simply the result of someone’s sinister plan (don’t worry, this is not a blog pertaining to “conspiracy theory” so I don’t really believe the latter).
I do believe, however, that in our efforts to be “politically correct,” make sure all our kids are “winners,” and protect everyone’s “precious egos,” we are slowly evolving into a society that lacks basic freedoms and basic free thinkers.
I encourage your comments, whether you agree or not. True communication is really our only weapon in a fight to maintain our individuality for generations to come.
I think you have come up with some very good reflections and thought provoking circumstances in our- I want it my way and now- culture.
I went to parochial school, through High School and was taught by Franciscan Monks. They would gladly accept the responsibility of changing the attitude of this generation- it worked for me.
Keep up the good work.
Hi,
I hear clearly what you’re saying, and I agree. It’s like when we used to ask, ” Are you naturally stupid, or do you work at it?.” It leaves one to think about the absurdity. We cannot possibly be that anal in our thinking, so it would have to be some more intricately devised plan, that tries hard not to get our attention! Fools that we are, our minds just hone in on it. Duh!
Love the blog construction.

You are absolutely correct- we have lost our personal character and principles. If you don’t pay attention to the foundation of whatever you are building and keep looking to see what the other guy is doing- you will never form a solid foundation for yourself. We have gone from being the Benchmark for other countries to trying to be like them. We are no longer a standard bearer but a hyphenated group of un-unified people looking for someone to tell us what to think and do.
