So, what do you think of the new look and feel? Granted I am still working out all the bugs and deciding where to put things (that will just give me something to do this weekend). It is like moving into a new house! Categories to swap around, tabs to program, candy corn to steal from little kids (hey, I need a break from the computer at some point!).
Why the change? Well, the new format will give me a chance to better layout some topics. With the election coming to an end – thank God – I can move on to other fun stuff the Slow Bleed is known for.
Yea, I threw on some sponsor banners. Did the Godfather sell out? Not really, if people click on a few banners (say, that one on the right looks nice) and help pay for the hosting that works for me. If they don’t, it is not like I was going to payoff the government bailout anyway!
Oh yea, and a special shout out to Sam David. I hired him off eLance to help me move over all the old blogs, photos, and comments. Great guy. If you need some WordPress stuff done I highly recommend him.
Back to messing with the blog…
P.S. Let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions!
Ahhhh, much better, at least I can comment now………LOL
OK, I’m not sure I like this new look……..it’s just too busy for my personal taste, but hey……it is your home……….LOL
I’m sure I’ll adjust in time, I just don’t think it’s as personal looking/feeling as the other one.
But then we all know what a witch I am
Dang…I knew I should not have fixed the comments section!
It definitely lost some of the personal feel. At this point I am stripping things off so maybe there will be a happy medium.
My challenge is I write to about 4-5 areas and someone cruising the blog may get the wrong impression (as the other blog only goes back so far and some people hate to scroll down – probably some carpel tunnel thing). And I certainly don’t want more blogs in my life!
I want to have more light hearted stuff mixed in. If I have an “area” for it people can ignore it if they want.
In any case, thanks for the comments…I will keep playing with it.
Well, this is definitely different from the old format. As SWF said, it’ll take a little getting used to. Especially for a guy like me who is so adamant about not adapting to technology!!! LOL
So, I guess, as long as this comment posts, though, I’ll be okay!!
Why do I think, new format or not, you two will still have opinions to share?!
- Call it a intuition.
Because we don’t have to like the new format as long as the content and owner are the same………..hehehehehehe
Besides, you know you luv us!
But now I have two of you I can rag on for something……………….the Godfather for my preferring his old blog theme; and Mikey for…..well he already knows……..LOL
I love it. Still trying to find my way around but it is very cool. Does this mean you will be writing more
Great new look. Keep up the great blogs.
I like the new look
Very nice! It looks like it took a lot of work.
Godfather Added: Thanks Ren. Still playing with it (now it needs to be streamlined a bit). Actually it wasn’t too hard (although this is a new template for me vs. my NC site). I purchased a Design Package called Revolution – once you get it set up you just tell it where each category should post on the home page – WP does the rest! I think I should hire myself out to do sites for others.
Thanks for all the (mostly
) positive feedback. I will keep trying to tweak it so it is easier to find things!
Awww, come on………….I’m an older lady, I’m allowed to be curmudgeonly……LOL
Ok Lynda, but only because you made me laugh by using the word “Curmudgeonly”
*wiping brow* WHEW……………………….escaped that one nicely………LOL
Some compelling stuff here. I’ll be sure to return. Thanks!
The more I visit the page, in its new format, the more I am liking it over the old one. While I’m a simple kind of guy who can appreciate bland food, and other very boring stuff, it seems as though my mindset has finally progressed. Maybe Obama is “The One”, as I have quickly embraced the “change” through a movement of his spirit! LOL
Godfather Added: Thanks for the comments Mike. Still playing with the “ease of use” issue. May lose a few of the “tabs” at the top. And I think I am going to lose the video “full time” on the right (just put it there when I have something worthwhile to share – too much pressure for full time.
I was very impressed by the acceptance speech. I now want to see the “hope” live up to the “hype.”
In my book…he gets his shot. I think he means well (as they often do when they go into office). Uphill battle. but now is the time to get the US back on track!
