The Demise of Victoria’s Secret

pajama285I used to like Victoria’s Secret. It was the perfect place to find a great gift for my wife for Christmas, Anniversary, or just because I did something stupid and needed to make up for it.

I suspect a trip to Victoria’s Secret is much different for men then it is for women. I am not sure what women are looking for but I do know what men are looking for: Less is More.

Years ago, my first trip to buy something for my wife lead to a very displeased shop attendant. In my defense, I don’t think it was my fault. [Read more...]

Washington vs. Iraq

“If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops
in the  Iraq theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a
total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000
soldiers.
The firearm death rate in Washington , DC is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period.
That means you are about 25 percent more likely to be shot and killed in the US capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the U.S., than you are in Iraq .
Conclusion:  ”The US should pull out of Washington.

What in the world? TalibanTube

For a group that believes everything in the west is pretty much evil and should be avoided at all costs, they have no problem using the same technology they consider an abomination. By the way, guess who is hosting some sites for them? [Read more...]

Cash for Other Countries

Car285Now that the Cash for Clunkers programs is winding down, car dealers are in line to start complaining about poor sales. There is one thing I never understood…

Why did we not make it a requirement that you had to purchase a US made car to qualify for the program?

Toyota, Mazda, etc all cleaned up as “clunkers” rolled in as the owners purchased new cars. Money was spent, and then sent overseas to their respective company owner.

When Lincoln was building the railroad, he had the choice importing the steel from other countries or getting the steel locally. The steel, even at that time, was cheaper to import. Nonetheless, Lincoln figured even if we spend more money tapping our own steel, people would have jobs, and the money would stay here.

What happened to that type of thinking?
